The Carlile House was built in 1908 by a rancher, John Williamson Carlile and his wife Emma Giles. It was sold to his brother, Charles Francis Carlile on October, 30, 1919, where he resided with his children and wife for the remainder of his life. The home has a landmark style that is an example of the architecture and building done in the historic Heber area around the turn of the century. It suffered from a fire in the upstairs that damaged much of the upper floor, remnants of which can still be seen in the historic wood floors that were exposed and rehabilitated as a part of the historic renovation. is a landmark that played a pivotal role in local history. It stands as a testament to the architectural style and cultural heritage of its time.
The owner of the Carlile House, Laura J Hansen, discovered while doing historic research on the property, that the Carlile's were actually her 8th cousins, once removed, which made her loving restoration of this historic home that much more special to her and her family. She is excited to offer small businesses, including her law office and non-profit, Big Trees for Kids, beautiful historic office spaces to work out of.
